Morocco has signed with France, Germany, Spain and Portugal a memorandum of understanding of a roadmap to a sustainable electricity trade, on the sidelines of the parties’ 27th session of the conference (Cop 27).

The memorandum of understanding aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between Morocco and its European partners in the energy field, under the roadmap for Sustainable electricity trade by Morocco, France, Germany, Spain and Portugal that was established during the COP22 in Marrakesh in 2016.

Countries that have signed up on this memorandum of understanding, will be able to continue working towards the integration of green electricity markets in the five countries.

The priority in this memorandum of understanding will be given to developing green agreements to buy energy for companies across borders.
