The Atlas Lions will play their last friendly match before the World Cup against Georgia on 17 November in the United Arab Emirates, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said in a statement posted on its official website. The goal is to allow the coach, Walid Regragui, to make the final adjustments to his group before facing Croatia on 23 November. The kick-off of this match will be given at 5 pm Moroccan time.

How hard it was to find an opponent for the Atlas Lions before they went to the World Cup. The FRMF contacted several federations (Denmark, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc.) to organise a friendly match for the national team, but was refused. But after a great effort, she finally managed to reach an agreement with her Georgia counterpart to organize a friendly match on November 17 between the two countries’ selections. This an opportunity for the national coach to make adjustments to his team just five days before the first World Cup match against Croatia (23 November). After the great impression they made in their final preparations against Chile (2-0 victory) and Paraguay (0-0 draw), the Atlas Lions want to confirm the great impression they made in Spain.

Legally expected on 13 November in accordance with FIFA regulations, the Atlas Lions playing in Europe will have to join their teammates who have already entered the training camp in Qatar. The Lions of the Atlas will reside at the Wyndham Doha West Bay Hotel and train at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, home of the Al-Duhail Sports Club. Walid Regragui will probably have to announce his final list on 10 November.
