UN Praises for Morocco’s role in the Libyan conflict

The UN Security Council praised Morocco’s role in resolving the Libyan conflict during a meeting concerning Libya’s recent developments.

The meeting held last Friday in Rabat between the Speaker of the House of Representative Aguila Saleh and Chairman of the Libyan High Council of State Khaled Meshri was welcomed by the UN Secretary-General Special Representative for Libya Abdoulaye Bathily, Along with other Security Council members.

In addition, they affirmed the importance of the agreements both sides reached in the Rabat meeting, related to the implementation of provisions about the positions of sovereignty and executive power unification.

Several countries also commended the Rabat meeting and thanked Morocco for its efforts in resolving the Libyan crisis as United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Albania and Russia.

The meeting focused on implementing the mechanisms that have been approved in the second round of the inter-Libyan dialogue of Bouznika in 2020 on unification and executive power.
