The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPC C) warns that the international climate commitments are still a long way from the Paris Agreement’s target of limiting global warming by 1.5 °C.

The Executive Secretary of the United Nations Climate Change Simon Stiell, describe the lack of new climate plans before the UN climate change conference Cop 27 as “disappointing”.

The Executive Secretary mentioned before said, “We are very far from the level of emissions reductions and the goal needed to put us on the path to a world that does not warm by more than 1.5°C “.

The UN official added that to reach the 1.5 degrees Celsius target, governments must strengthen their plans now and apply them in the next eight years.

The UN body received the latest international commitments analysis, that the agreement plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions which 193 countries signed for, could put the world on a 2.5°C by the end of the century.
