The Moroccan women’s football selection, has been placed in pool H of the 2023 World Cup Group Phase, which will take place in Australia and New Zealand (20 July – 20 August), following the draw in Auckland, New Zealand, on Saturday.
The Atlas Lionesses, will play in this group with Germany (world champion in 2003 and 2007), Colombia and South Korea. The national team was featured in Hat 4 for the draw of this competition, along with Nigeria, the Philippines, South Africa and Zambia, in addition to three teams to be determined after the dams.
The Moroccan selection, qualified for the world championship for the first time in its history after its brilliant career at the CAN-2022, held last July in Morocco.
National coach Reynald Pedros had reached the final, where they lost to South Africa (2-1).
The United States, two reigning world champions, are in the same group as the Netherlands, Vietnam and a barragiste team.
