The live broadcast on “Tik Tok” is forbidden to those under the age of 18

The Tik Tok platform, decided to raise the age of those who can stream a live broadcast from 16 to 18 years, as movement of the company’s “efforts to ensure the security and safety of users.”

The famous platform, will forbid the access to the live broadcast service for those under the age of 18, starting from November 23, while the company announced in a statement the launch of a new feature that allows users to direct broadcasts to adults only.

Even the Tik Tok platform is the most downloaded around the world, its risks to children still severe and raised despite all the platform’s efforts to reduce themm, as any other platfrorms on social media espacially when there is no supervision by parents.

Main causes that can happen to the users of this platform:

Children exposed to sexual exploitation

While the Tik Tok platform is working to block and ban any sexual content, there remains some hidden content that its owners deceive in filming it to incite underage children to think and commit sexual and immoral acts.

Lack of privacy

Tik Tok harms the privacy of most of its users of all age groups, but the most affected group is children, as it deals with things spontaneously to the point of naivety from publishing very personal things and sharing private informations.

Negative comments and low self-value

The Tik Tok users faces many negative comments that may cross all the red lines, whether because of the content or its owner, which leaves many users with feelings of frustration and lack of self-confidence in addition to self-contempt, and sometimes the risk may reach the thought of suicide.
