The Spanish Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Social Security reported, that 286,726 Moroccans are registered in Spain’s social security system by the end of September.
Moroccans remain at the top of the non-European list, followed by Colombians (124609) and Venezuelans (120344).
The source mentioned before, said that the total number of foreigners affiliated with the Spanish social security system amounted to 2,456,019 in the first nine months of 2022, which gives a decrease of 18,528 active individuals compared to August.
In general, foreign workers represented 12.1 percent of the total number of people registered with the social security system in September.
On the other hand, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) announced that 879,943 Moroccans have been legally incorporated in Spain since January 2022, an increase of 0.8 percent (+7,184 people) compared to the same period last year.
According to the same source, Moroccans have maintained their position as the leading foreign community legally established in the Spanish state, representing 16 percent of foreigners residing in Spain.
