Congo praises King’s role and commitment to biodiversity issues

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, welcomed and recieved the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Republic of the Congo and Technical Coordinator of the Climate Commission for the Congo Basin, Arlette Soudan-Nonoh, carrying a letter on this occasion to King Mohammed VI from the President of the Republic of the Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso.

In a statement to the press, after her meeting with Mr. Bourita, Sudan-Nono praised the King’s commitment to environmental diversity issues, and explaining that His Majesty was the initiator of the propos to establish the three African committees on climate change during the COP22 summit.

She added that, his Majesty the King Mohamed 6 participated in the first summit of heads of state and government of the Climate Committee and the Blue Fund for the Congo Basin.

Te Congolese Minister confirmed that we need to continue “climate diplomacy” in order to promote the green and blue economies.
