The Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch received, Frans Timmermans, Executive Vice President of the European Union Commission in charge of the Green Agreement, who is on a visit to Rabat on October 18 and 19 to sign the Green Partnership between the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco on energy, climate and environment.

The meeting constituted an opportunity to discuss and exchange views on the strategic partnership between Morocco and the European Union, to which His Majesty King Mohammed VI attaches special importance.

Aziz Akhannouch, considered that activating the green partnership between Morocco and the European Union will enable the exploitation of all the opportunities it offers in terms of energy security, green hydrogen, interconnection and the gas pipeline linking Europe, Morocco and Nigeria.

The importance of this partnership is to advance their energy transition, preserve the environment and stimulate the green economy.

On the other hand, the meeting mentioned before falls within the framework of the green partnership, which contributed to giving a positive dynamism to bilateral relations, and helped them to withstand the challenges imposed by the difficult international situation.
