The expert on geopolitical issues and international relations, Jamal Mashrouh, explained in an analytical summary with the title “Why does Europe have a strategic interest in the completion of the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline?”.
Jamal Mashrouh, added that the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project and African gas supplies are enough to strengthen the European energy independence needed for its countries to achieve strategic independence.
Pn the other hand, Mashrouh explained that this project is important to the European continent by diversifying its gas sources, which will give it a large marge of maneuvering. He also confirmed the importance of Europe working to increase its gas supplies.
The assistant professor at the Faculty of Governance and Economic and Social Sciences of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, added that this gas project would help ending the threats that Europe is witnessing in this field, and will also help it to put in place new measures in this regard.
The expert also warned of the danger of the Algerian regime’s use of gas as a weapon, calling for the reorganization of the European energy market, on solid and sustainable foundations.
