the Mauritania remained committed to its permanent position on the file of the Moroccan Sahara, according to the annual report submitted by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to the members of the Security Council on the national issue.

According to the same report, the countries of the region are called to engage in “good faith” in political negotiations in order to end the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara issue, especially since the United Nations is ready to hold intensive meetings with all the countries concerned with the file.

The report mentioned above, pointed out that “trust is still lacking in the region despite international efforts,”Taking note of the efforts made by the Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations to the Moroccan Sahara to bridge the gap between the parties in conflict.
