The 19th edition of the Timitar Festival opened last Thursday to a large audience that came to soak up a festive atmosphere in Agadir. Moroccan artist OUM inaugurated the event, providing an exceptional performance on the outdoor stage that left the public in a frenzy.

It was this unique fusion of OUM, known for fusing jazz with traditional Moroccan melodies, that made the choice unique. She gave a great performance that left people speechless. She charmed the audience with all her hit Numbers, and the crowd reciprocated the energy very warmly, making the opening night of this festival truly unforgettable.

The open-air stage, facing the beaches of Agadir, became a scene of festivity for rejoicing in the arts and cultural exchange. This year, it shall host a prestigious program of Moroccan and international artists, reflecting its commitment to shedding light on Morocco’s rich cultural and musical heritage while embracing influences from around the world.

The Timitar Festival has gone on to become the awards event that music and art lovers eagerly await every year, still playing the dual role as a bridge between cultures. Under its theme, “Amazigh Artists Welcome the Music of the World,” it promises a richly varied program that confirms its position as one of the region’s greatest cultural events. At every level of the term, the opening of this edition, which is expected to be spectacular with OUM leading, does indeed promise to be extraordinary.
