On Friday, June 28, Adama Bayala was last seen leaving his office around 2 PM in his vehicle. Since then, he has been unreachable, both in person and via phone. The National Consumer Network of Faso, led by Bayala, announced his disappearance with a message stating, “Adama Bayala has been missing and unreachable by phone since Friday, June 28, 2024.”

Bayala’s wife expressed her distress, noting that his disappearance occurred shortly after a Facebook post warned him to be cautious. “We lost track of him since then,” she said, hoping for his safe return.

Adama’s family and friends have visited numerous police stations and gendarmeries but have received no information regarding his whereabouts. A member of the National Consumer Network of Faso stated, “We have sent out an SOS on our platforms, asking anyone with information to come forward. But so far, no one has contacted us.”

The journalist is a well-known journalist and author who has frequently participated in televised debates. His outspoken criticism of the transitional government has earned him both supporters and detractors. Some of his critics, particularly those supporting the military regime, have attacked him on social media.
