Friend of Slain South African Soccer Captain Denies Taking Trial as a Joke

Senzo Meyiwa’s close friend, Mothokozisi Thwala, has hit back at a defense lawyer during cross-examination in the murder trial of the Bafana Bafana captain, Thwala was warned to take the trial seriously following contradictory testimonies. Meyiwa was shot dead at the home of his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, in October 2014, with intruders claiming to have entered the home during a robbery attempt.
