The 36th Addis Ababa Summit kicks off in the presence of Akhannouch, representing King Mohammed VI

The work of the 36th session of the African Union Summit kicked off today, Saturday, in Addis Ababa, with the participation of the heads of state and government of the 54 members of the Union.

King Mohammed VI is represented, in the works of this summit, by Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.

The 36th African Union Summit will focus on discussing several issues, including the global food crisis, the issue of climate change, granting a seat to the African Union within the G20, the state of peace and security in the continent, as well as, the institutional reform of the Union, the African Union’s response to the Corona pandemic and reform of the United Nations Security Council.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, participating in the summit along with a delegation consisting of the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Mohamed Arouchi, and Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mohamed Mithqal.
