In Burkina Faso, Radio Oméga, a prominent and widely listened-to radio station, has formally appealed to the Council of State in response to its program suspension enacted by the transitional government on August 10, 2023.

Known for its significant listenership, Radio Oméga’s management has expressed its resolute protest against what it deems an “unjust” and “unfounded” decision, reiterating its stance through an official statement.

As per legal provisions, our counterparts emphasize that the Burkinabe government lacks the authority to suspend a radio station, a prerogative exclusively vested in the High Council of Communication.
