Senior State advocate Billy Downer and News24 specialist legal journalist Karyn Maughan successfully enforced their application in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg.

This decision effectively puts a halt to any actions related to Zuma’s private prosecution against Downer and Maughan while he appeals to the ruling that invalidated his pursuit.

The court’s ruling in favor of the enforcement order means that Zuma is now prevented from further pursuing a private prosecution against Maughan and Downer during the appeal process. Both Maughan and Downer were scheduled to appear for their private prosecution summons on Friday, but this development has put a pause on those proceedings.

Zuma’s lawyer, Dali Mpofu, had previously expressed intentions to exercise his right to automatically appeal the enforcement order if granted.
