In a statement from the Royal Palace on Monday, it was reported that King Mohammed VI received a letter from the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu. In the letter, the Israeli Prime Minister informed His Majesty of Israel’s decision to recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over the territory of Sahara.
Furthermore, the statement asserted that this position of the Israeli government would be reflected in all relevant official documents and actions. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will inform the United Nations, regional and international organizations where it is a member, and all countries with diplomatic relations with Israel about this decision.
In his letter to King Mohammed VI, the Israeli Prime Minister also expressed Israel’s positive consideration of opening a consulate in the city of Dakhla as part of cementing the state’s commitment to this resolution.
