The prosecutor indicted Oumar Sylla “alias” Foniké Mengué, the national coordinator of the movement, and Ibrahima Diallo, the head of operations of the FNDC, on Friday, June 9th for two consecutive days. They face charges of taking part in a crowd, aiding in the destruction of public and private property, and aiding in intentional assault and fire during the demonstration of July 28th.

On the second day in the trial of the leaders of the FNDC, the Anti-New Constitution Front and 3rd term for Alpha Condé, the prosecutor Babadi Camara requests in his indictment a suspended sentence accompanied by a fine.

“For the public action, Mr. President, you will sentence them each to two years in prison, suspended, and to the payment of a fine of 20 million Guinean francs each”. An indictment that raised the tension in the room, especially on the bench of defense lawyers.

“The whole process initiated against Mr. Foniké Mengué, Mr. Ibrahima Diallo, and Mr. Saïkou Yaya Barry is nothing but judicial harassment to silence them simply because they have convictions that are not in line with a political system that we have implemented in our country!”, launches ulcerated, Halimatou Camara.
