During a meeting with the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, in Abidjan on Monday, the Ivorian Prime Minister, Patrich Achi, highlighted the excellent relations that exist between the Ivory Coast and the Kingdom of Morocco.

At the end of the meeting, held on the fringes of the Africa CEO Forum summit, Mr. Achi said that the two countries were linked by age-old relations that were initiated by the founding father of the nation, the late Félix Houphouët-Boigny, and the late HM Hassan II, and which have been extended by HM King Mohammed VI and President Alassane Ouattara.

The Ivorian Prime Minister emphasized that these historic relations are only growing, to the point where investments are increasingly being made in both directions.

Mr. Achi believes that the potential of the two countries will enable Ivorian and Moroccan companies to carry out projects that will benefit both countries, as well as enable them to “conquer markets elsewhere, in Africa, Asia, Europe and the West in general”.

The talks also covered several projects, in particular the Baie de Cocody project, which was initiated jointly with Morocco, and its progress.

At the same time, Mr. Achi expressed the wish to benefit from the experience of the “Green Morocco” Plan, which he described as a “miracle” so that Ivory Coast could also carry out projects that would generate growth, wealth, and jobs for the Ivorian population.

The meeting between Mr. Achi and Mr. Akhannouch took place in the presence of the Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, and the Moroccan Ambassador to Abidjan.
