As per the directives of the Monarch, the Supreme Chief, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, a joint initiative between the FAR and the American Armed Forces is currently underway, scheduled until June 16th, as they collaborate on the 19th installment of the “African Lion” exercise. This significant development has been confirmed through an official press release issued by the General Staff of the FAR.

In a momentous occasion held at the General Staff headquarters of the South Zone in Agadir, a big inauguration ceremony was meticulously orchestrated on Monday to mark the official commencement of this collaborative multinational exercise. The event, graced by esteemed delegates from the participating nations, solidified the significance of this joint endeavor, as relayed by the aforementioned source.

During this noteworthy gathering, the focal theme of the 19th edition of the exercise, along with an array of diverse activities, was unveiled. Notable highlights encompassed an operational planning exercise tailored for the senior staff of the esteemed “Task Force,” encompassing land, maritime, and aerial tactical exercises of combined nature. These exercises, designed to take place during both daytime and nighttime, included a combined special forces operation, airborne maneuvers, and the deployment of a Military Field Hospital equipped to provide crucial surgical and medical services to the local populace.

Morocco has strategically planned the “African Lion 2023” exercise as an annual rendezvous, spanning seven regions: Agadir, Tan-Tan, Mehbes, Tiznit, Kenitra, Benguerir, and Tifnit. This significant event serves as a catalyst in bolstering the military cooperation of Morocco while simultaneously fostering enhanced interchanges amongst the armed forces of diverse nations.
