A significant development has emerged in the investigation surrounding the tragic demise of Chanlall Dwarika, a beloved lecturer at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT). The 61-year-old electrical engineering professor, known fondly as Shan, had been reported missing for more than a week before his lifeless body was discovered in a field in Inanda, located northwest of Durban.

Authorities have made a breakthrough in the case, as at least two suspects are now in police custody in connection with the heinous crime. Shan’s kidnapping was captured on CCTV footage, which revealed three adult males forcefully forcing him into a black SUV.

Following diligent efforts, the security firm Reaction Unit SA (Rusa) managed to trace one of the suspects to Inanda. Through their investigation, the suspect provided crucial information and identified one of the individuals involved in the abduction of Dwarika.

According to Vinod Singh, spokesperson for Rusa, the suspect disclosed the grim details of the incident. On the day of the abduction, the suspect and two accomplices escorted Mr. Dwarika to Inanda, where they carried out the horrifying act, ultimately leading to his untimely demise. The exact location where they perpetrated the crime remains uncertain.
