The Senegalese government has announced that a “Hackers” group has launched an attack on the official websites of the country and that the government is in the process of mobilizing all teams of the Senegal Digital Company to enable users of institutional websites to access online services as quickly as possible.

According to the government, this is a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, which overloads servers with commands in order to make them inaccessible.

The hacker’s group, who call themselves “Anonymous,” announced on social media platforms that they have targeted public service websites. The spokesperson for the Senegalese government, Abdu Karim Fofana, explained that after an investigation, they confirmed that it was an information attack called DDoS.

Moreover, the spokesperson stated that the perpetrators of this attack, who represent the hacker group Anonymous, had previously penetrated other government infrastructures worldwide.

According to the Senegalese official, Senegal Digital (SENUM SA), which manages the Gouv.sn domain has mobilized all its teams to ensure that users are able to access online services as soon as possible.
