South African Health Minister Conducts Oversight Visit on Friday in Hammanskraal Amid Cholera Outbreak
Amidst the ongoing cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal, Health Minister Joe Phaahla, accompanied by Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, paid a visit to Jubilee Hospital.

The facility has witnessed a surge in patients exhibiting cholera symptoms, with at least 20 reported deaths in the Pretoria North community over the past week. During the visit, a dedicated ward for confirmed cases was identified, while a tent was set up outside to address residents presenting with cholera symptoms.

Concerns were raised by patients, including the need for warmer blankets and discussions about recovery, including the treatment of a pair of ten-year-old twins in a separate area within the ward.
