The Sudanese army announced on Wednesday that the deposed Sudanese dictator Omar al-Bashir wanted for crimes against humanity, is in the “Armed Forces Alia” hospital under the custody of the judicial police, even before the start of the fighting on April 15th between the two ruling generals in Khartoum.

With this announcement, the army denied the report that Omar al-Bashir had escaped from prison with other ex-collaborators.

Indeed, Lieutenant Ahmed Haroun, also wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced that he had escaped with others from Kober prison in the capital Khartoum.

The recorded speech of Ahmed Haroun, wanted for “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” in Darfur, was broadcast last night on Sudanese television.
