CAN 2024 in Ivory Coast will Take Place from January 13th to February 11th

The Confederation of African Football has officially unveiled the dates of CAN 2024 which will be played in Ivory Coast. The opening match is scheduled for January 13th, the final will be played on February 11th. The draw will be made in September after the last day of the playoffs.

It is at the Alassane-Ouattara d’Ébimpe stadium (60,000 seats), in Abidjan, that the kick-off of CAN 2024 will be given. Ivory Coast, the host country, will meet on Saturday, January 13th an opponent who will be known in September after the last day of the qualifiers and after the CAN draw. The date and place of the draw will be confirmed later according to CAF Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba.

This 34th edition of the African Cup will concern 24 teams that will play the tournament in five cities: Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San-Pédro, and Yamoussoukro, and six stadiums with a capacity of 20,000 to 60,000 seats.

It will be the second CAN organization for Ivory Coast, which hosted the tournament in 1984, the year of Cameroon’s first coronation. There are two days left in the playoffs, the fifth scheduled for June 12-20, and the last from September 4-12.

After the fourth day, six teams won their ticket to the final phase: Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, and Senegal, reigning African champions.
