Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang on Wednesday held talks with his Ivorian counterpart Patrick Achi in Boao, who is attending the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia.

The two sides agreed to raise the level of bilateral relations to a new height and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations would be the new starting point for this new era of relations between the two countries, according to Li, who considers Ivory Coast a vital cooperation partner.

Similarly, Li said China could help build a high-level China-Africa shared future community.

He also stressed that China would cooperate closely with Côte d’Ivoire at all levels and in all fields and encourage Chinese enterprises to invest in Côte d’Ivoire.

China will deepen cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, digital economy, new energy, and green development.

Mr. Li promised that China will help Côte d’Ivoire advance industrialization and assist it in achieving grain self-sufficiency.

He added that China is ready to help welcome more young Ivorians wishing to study in China.

In return, the Chinese PM expressed his appreciation for Côte d’Ivoire’s support for the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, and the Global Security Initiative, as well as its firm adherence to the One China principle.
