A report on journalism in the Sahel will be presented by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) at a press conference scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday 3rd April at the Good Rade Hotel in Dakar.

The Senegalese news agency announced that the report is entitled “In the Skin of a Journalist in the Sahel”.

This document contains unpublished testimonies, field missions, and expert analyses.

In this regard, RSF explained that attacks by armed groups in the Sahel have impacted the work of journalists in such a way that they have reduced the space for gathering information and weakened the means of dissemination.

The safety of journalists is at stake due to the presence of armed gangs, military juntas, as well as the presence of Wagner.

RSF added that this report will take stock of “the daily life of a journalist in the Sahel and the challenge of reporting in hostile areas”.
