The Tunisian National Guard reported on Sunday that 29 migrants from African countries had died after their boats sank off the coast of the country. The Guard also stated that 11 illegal immigrants from various African countries were rescued following three separate drowning incidents.
The Guard spokesperson released a statement announcing the recovery of the migrants’ bodies and the successful rescue of the illegal immigrants. The boats that sank were believed to be transporting the migrants illegally into the country.
