According to Eskom, load shedding will persist at stage two until Saturday at 5 am, and it will then be reduced to stage one until 4 pm.
Rolling blackouts will be put on hold on Sunday morning and will resume at 4 pm.
Eskom explained that the de-escalation of load shedding became possible because of the reactivation of three generating units within the last 24 hours.
Menzi Mngomezulu, the spokesperson for Eskom, stated that starting from 4 pm on Sunday until 4 pm on Monday, stage 1 load shedding will be implemented. Eskom will issue a fresh update promptly if any significant changes take place.
