The Moroccan ambassador to Finland and Estonia, Mohamed Achgalou, said in an interview with the magazine of the African diaspora in Finland “Diaspora Glitz”, that Finland can rely on Morocco to implement its African strategy adopted in 2021.

Morocco’s experience and strong commitment to Africa are internationally recognized. The Moroccan diplomat also added that Finland can benefit from the mechanisms of tripartite cooperation, like the successful experience between Morocco, the European Union (EU), and African states, through the Link Up Africa project, launched in Rabat in March 2022.

Mr. Achgalou noted that Africa is a priority for the Kingdom, noting that this historical approach has been confirmed under the reign of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, through, approximately, 50 visits made by the Sovereign to African states, which have resulted in more than 1,000 cooperation agreements in various fields.

Moreover, the ambassador hailed the quality of the “excellent” relations between Morocco and Finland, noting the strong will of both countries to further deepen these relations, to strengthen political, cultural, and economic cooperation.

He also highlighted that there are several promising areas of investment for Finnish companies in Morocco, such as renewable energies, the agri-food industry, health, education, offshoring, tourism, agriculture, and ICT, he added.
