Canada’s Thor Explorations has announced that the Segilola gold mine in Nigeria alone has delivered 98,006 ounces in its first full year of operation. With this performance, it has reached the limit of its forecast of 90,000 to 100,000 ounces for 2022.
The company’s CEO, Segun Lawson said the Segilola gold mine is at a steady state of operation consistent with the company’s growth strategy in Nigeria, especially as it adopts an aggressive drilling program on a number of targets and continues to evaluate potential opportunities.
Thor Explorations’ vision calls for a production target of 85,000 to 95,000, above the 2021 mine plan of 76,900.
Canada’s Thor Explorations owns 100% of Segilola, Nigeria’s only producing industrial mine, which will come on stream in July 2021 and is located in Osun State, in the southwestern part of the federal state.
