At least 10 dead in mini-bus explosion in eastern Burkina Faso

The explosion of a mini-bus after hitting a mine in the village of Bougui, in eastern Burkina Faso, has led to the death of at least 10 people, the governor of the region, Colonel Hubert Yameogo said in a statement.

According to the statement, apart from the deaths, which are mainly women and children, 5 injured were sent to the hospital in Fada N’Gourma, adding that the death toll could be increased, as there are other passengers still missing.

The government has offered condolences to the families of the victims while promising to take concrete action to protect the country from terrorist attacks that have killed thousands.
