The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) report, highlighted Moroccan progress and efforts in tax transparency.

The report regarding the transparency and exchange of information in Morocco showed that the country ensures access to information in a legal way, as well as access and effective exchange of such information for tax purposes.

Morocco is evaluated in general as substantially compliant in terms of transparency and exchange of information upon request.

Morocco obtained a ranking of “compliant” for the elements of “network of information exchange mechanisms”, “accounting data”, “rights and protections of individuals”, “information exchange mechanisms”, “rights and protections of taxpayers and third parties” and “confidentiality”.

Moreover, Morocco has continued to approve double taxation conventions, the outcome of ameliorating the information exchange mechanisms from “Substantially Compliant” to “Compliant.”
