Motsebi: I welcome the idea of Morocco hosting the CAN 2025

Patrice Motsebe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), expressed his delight by hosting Morocco for the African Champions League for Women.

On the occasion of the CAF Women’s Champions League final, Patrice Motsepe added that the Kingdom of Morocco is a pioneering country in the development of African football, stressing that he is happy when the continental competitions are held in Morocco.

The CAF president welcomed Morocco’s hosting of the 2025 African Nations Cup, saying: “We received an official letter from Morocco regarding the organization of the 2025 African Nations Cup after it was withdrawn from Guinea, and I welcome them and the rest of the African countries.”

Motsebi arrived in Morocco, in order to follow the final of the African Champions League for women, where he was received at Rabat-Salé airport, by Tarek Najim, general secretary of the Royal Moroccan Football Association.

The final match between the FAR and its South African counterpart, Mamelodi Sundowns, will take place on Sunday, November 13th, at the Moulay Abdellah compound in Rabat, starting at eight in the evening.

The women of the Royal Army reserved the ticket to qualify for the final of the African Champions League, after beating Nigeria’s Bayelsa with a straightforward goal.
