Practising unspeakable harassment against official Moroccan media and the royal activities team, the Algerian authorities have authorized only 12 (and still!) of 51 accredited members of this delegation and confiscated their equipment. A sabotage operation with readable objectives. Narrative.

It has become an honest reflex of the Algerian authorities whenever it comes to allowing the Moroccan media to cover events organized in the neighbouring East. The Moroccan media simply do not have access to it. But there, the Algerian government crossed a line by preventing even the media team in charge of royal activities within the public broadcasting pole, notably the channel “Al Aoula”, from fulfilling its mission and confiscating its equipment. However, all the usual procedures have been completed.

On 24 and 25 October 2022, upon receipt of the mission relating to the coverage of the summit, the team responsible for monitoring the royal activities provided all the documents necessary for its accreditation, to cover the participation of King Mohammed VI in the event. The various steps were coordinated by the Consul General of the Kingdom in Algeria, Said El Hal. And he confirmed last Wednesday the registration of the team and its material on the electronic platform dedicated to this purpose.

The full number of Moroccan journalists and technicians accredited to cover the summit’s work amounted to 51, including 20 members of the royal team (photographers of the Sovereign and teams of Al Aoula, 2M and the Maghreb Arab Press Agency). Rabat-Paris-Algiers flight tickets have been reserved for departure on Friday 28 October at 6 am.
