The World Health Organization said In a statement that the next phase of The Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator partners’ work will focus on three overarching areas, boosting testing and securing sustained access to COVID-19 tools, and introducing new treatments.
The COVID-19 Accelerator partners launched a six-month plan and it is a global health agencies’ partnership that works alongside the government, civil society and other partners.
The new plan will support countries to move to the long-term control of the disease and help to treat future disease mutations.
The World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that there is still a lot of work to do to achieve fair access to lifesaving tools, taking into consideration that health workers and populations are the top WHO priority.
