Italian MAE welcomes Morocco’s “crucial” role in the stability of the Mediterranean

The Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation,” Antonio Tajani”, welcomed on Thursday “the crucial role played by the Kingdom in the stability of the Mediterranean”.

In a tweet, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “Tajani” congratulated himself during a telephone interview with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, “Nasser Bourita”, of the “Morocco’s crucial role in the stability of the Mediterranean, particularly in the fight against terrorism.”

The Former President of the European Parliament and member of the party of the government coalition Forza Italia, “Tajani” was appointed last Friday to head Italian diplomacy.

In November 2019, Morocco and Italy concluded a Declaration of Multidimensional Strategic Partnership which aims, in this case, to maintain a permanent and thorough dialogue on all areas of common interest, In this case, the fight against terrorism and international crime. This cooperation instrument also aims to deepen dialogue and cooperation in the legal and migration fields.

Similarly, Rome and Rabat have stressed on several occasions the quality of the relations which unite them and the common desire to stimulate bilateral cooperation in various fields and to give a new dynamic to trade.
