Based on accurate information provided by the DGST, the special force of the Central Office of Judicial Investigations conducted, yesterday and on October 26, 2022, several operations in various cities and localities in Morocco that resulted in the arrest of five supporters of Daesh, ready to act against sensitive targets in the country.
The elements of the Special Force under the jurisdiction of the DGST have initiated the procedures of intervention and interpellation within the framework of separate operations having targeted the suspects, aged between 20 and 45, in the places where they were active: douar «Habata Benmansour» in the province of Kenitra, Sidi Yahya Zaer, Dchira in Inzegane Aït Melloul, the commune of Bouaboud (province of Chichaoua) and in the city of Casablanca, says a statement from the BCIJ.
According to the preliminary data of the investigation, each of the suspects had announced his «allegiance» to the terrorist organization Daech and was a bearer of terrorist projects that consisted in the execution of sabotage of vital services in Morocco, through the use of explosive materials, or targeting security elements and institutions in the context of “individual terrorism” operations.
The research and investigations carried out also revealed that among those questioned, some were trained in the manufacture of explosive devices, according to the BCIJ.
